Rich DeCarlo (East Haven) scored four goals to lead Gold team to a 7-5 win over Blue in the 2012 Connecticut High School hockey Senior All Star Game.
After falling behind 5-1, Blue stormed back to tie it at 5-5, behind three goals from team MVP Ethan Holdaway (Glastonbury) and one from Mike Troiano (West Haven). Lyman Hall goaltender Kenny Cairns made several outstanding saves in the second half of the game to keep the Gold team at bay.
Gold went ahead for good, however, on a third period goal from Ryan Borsari (Watertown/Pomperaug).
Colby Cretella (Notre Dame-West Haven), the Blue team MVP in the 2011 Junior Selects game, had another strong showing this year with 4 assists for Gold.
